The 2026 league year is coming next month. It officially begins on March 11, with the legal negotiating period beginning on March 9.

The Arizona Cardinals have many roster decisions to make before then.

Leading up to the new league year, we will profile every player on the roster, go over what they did last season, what their contract status is and what they face in 2026.

Next up is tight end Rivaldo Fairweather.

Rivaldo Fairweather 2025 season

Fairweather was an undrafted rookie in 2025 signed originally by the Dallas Cowboys. He spent almost the entire season on their practice squad until the Cardinals signed him on Dec. 30 to the active roster. He was inactive for the final game of the year, so he did not get a single snap as a rookie.

Rivaldo Fairweather contract status

The Cardinals signed him through 2026, so he will at least begin the offseason with them, due to make $1.005 million in salary. He will be an exclusive rights free agent in 2027, so the Cardinals will retain control if he plays out the contract.

Rivaldo Fairweather offseason outlook

Signed late in the year, this was a move to take a look at him in the offseason. The new coaching staff hasn’t seen him yet, so he will be a young player to watch to see if he can make any noise in offseason workouts or training camp.
