The Raiders might not be trying to trade Maxx Crosby but we did learn their asking price for him this week at the NFL Combine.

So far, it doesn’t sound like Tom Brady and company have found anyone willing to give up two first-round picks and a player for Crosby, but the best offers might not come until closer to the draft.

In the meantime, at least one team has chosen the path of complaining to local media about the Raiders’ asking price for Crosby.

According to Andrew Callahan of the Boston Herald, the Patriots have put out the message that they don’t believe the Raiders are serious about trading Crosby if they’re looking for a return similar to what the Cowboys got for Micah Parsons.

“Are the Raiders actually willing to play ball? That is the question on the minds of Patriots’ decision-makers,” Callahan reported on Saturday.

“League sources don’t believe the Raiders are serious about trading Pro Bowl defensive end Maxx Crosby, so negotiations could very well drag into the draft this April. Acquiring Crosby nonetheless feels more realistic than trading for Brown at this time, per one team source, who believes a first-round pick and other lesser assets, including one of the Patriots’ two fourth-round picks, would be fair compensation. The Raiders are reportedly seeking two first-round picks and a player.”

Most insiders and media personalities seem to agree that Crosby won’t have the same trade value as Parsons, but there were rumors the Raiders were offered two first-round picks for Crosby prior to the 2025 season.

As for the Patriots, it wouldn’t be the best look for Brady to send his best player to his former team for anything close to what would be considered a bargain price.

In fact, with the Patriots in the same conference as the Raiders and New England coming off a trip to the Super Bowl, it might be wise for Brady to avoid the Patriots altogether as it relates to Crosby.

If Crosby is traded, at least one league insider believes it could happen in the next week

“I would say it is fair to assume that the Raiders are getting many calls about Maxx Crosby,” NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero said on the Rich Eisen Show on Thursday.

“You heard what John Spytek said in this room. He expects Maxx to be back, great relationship, texting and talking. We have not heard from Maxx Crosby since that session. Maxx has many ways on social media and podcasts to potentially respond.”

“I would say the Raiders don’t need to make calls. They will get calls on Maxx Crosby. Is there a world where Maxx Crosby gets traded in the next 7 to 10 days? I believe there is,” Pelissero continued.

“We’re not there yet in terms of a deal actually getting done, but almost every player in the NFL has a price… To me, [the Crosby situation] tracks toward push this as far as you can, maximize your leverage by saying we’re going to keep the guy here, see what type of calls you get. I’m not aware of the Raiders calling anyone. I do believe that they are getting calls, and I do believe there’s a possibility of Maxx Crosby being traded sometime between now and the start of the league year.”
