The Pittsburgh Steelers, along with the rest of the NFL ascended on Indianapolis, IN for the NFL Scouting Combine in their best look at the top prospects in the 2026 NFL draft. Several players performed so well, pundits all over the internet are making huge changes to their positional rankings and big boards.
This means it is time for us to update our four-round mock draft for the Steelers after pouring over the combine and everyone’s reactions and we have a ton of new picks.

First round – WR Makai Lemon – USC
We still believe Lemon isn’t likely to slide this far, especially with Arizona State’s Jordyn Tyson still on the mend. If Lemon had been gone, we would have opted for Indiana wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr. without hesitation but Lemon’s too dynamic to pass here.
Second round – S A.J. Haulcy – LSU
Haulcy’s strong combine cemented his status as the No. 4 safety and part of that top tier of players with Caleb Downs, Dillon Thieneman and Emmanuel McNeil-Warren. Haulcy is at worst an elite box safety but his athleticism gives him a much higher ceiling than that.

Third round – RB Mike Washington Jr. – Arkansas
No running back was more impressive at the combine than Mike Washington Jr. His combination of size and athleticism are going to send teams back to his film where they are going to see one of the best receiving backs in the draft and an inside/outside threat with excellent contact balance and burst.
Third round – DT Chris McClellan – Missouri
The Steelers need to start some planning for the eventual retirement of Cameron Heyward and McClellan’s game fits perfectly with what they need. He’s got elite length, underrated athleticism and is a great mix of burst and power from a player 6-foot-6 and 313 pounds.

Third round – QB Taylen Green – Arkansas
As a developmental quarterback, Taylen Green is the player you build in a lab. Huge, strong, and uber-athletic, Green is the player the Steelers draft and tuck away for a year to let him work on his game before setting him loose on the rest of the NFL.
Fourth round – G Billy Schrauth – Notre Dame
Schrauth looked solid in positional drills and plans to test at the Notre Dame pro day. Schrauth is a smart player with good strength and leverage and definitely has starter potential in the right system.
