Tennessee football was represented by seven players at the NFL Scouting Combine this week, including breakout wide receiver Chris Brazzell. It was Brazzell’s efforts in the 40-yard dash that took a good bit of the headlines for former Vols.

Brazzell notched a 4.37 time, which is tied for the ninth-fastest mark among invited wide receivers. That’s good on its own, but even better when you consider he stands at 6-foot-4, putting into perspective the tools that he takes to the next level.

Currently, Brazzell sits just outside the first round in most mock drafts. However, especially after a strong combine showing, there’s a chance he could slide up into that first round and be one of the first receivers taken.

Chris Brazzell just ran a 4.37 despite 2 false steps. Could probably clean it up to a 4.30 flat.

This past season, Brazzell proved to be one of the best pass catchers in the conference. In 12 regular-season games, he posted 1,017 yards and nine touchdowns on 62 receptions.

Brazzell went over 100 yards four times on the season. His best game was at home against Georgia. In the narrow, last-second loss to the Bulldogs, he caught six passes for 177 yards and three touchdowns.

This was his second year in Knoxville. He transferred in the year prior and played a role off the bench primarily, but rotated in for his fair share of snaps. His best moment was the late, game-deciding touchdown against Alabama.

Prior to his time with the Vols, Brazzell played at Tulane. He is from Midland, Texas.
