Jeremiyah Love said he hopes the New York Giants “call my name on draft night” after meeting with the franchise at the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine.

The 2025 Heisman trophy finalist, 20, was one of six former Notre Dame players invited to participate in drills at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana, this week, with fellow running back Jadarian Price, 22, among them.

On Friday, Love offered a glowing review of Price ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft, saying “the sky is the limit” for him and that he’s “going to do great things in the league” after impressing during his two years with the Fighting Irish.

Love, however, ended up impressing himself, clocking 40-yard dash times of 4.36 and 4.37 seconds during Saturday’s running back drills, which also took place on the same day as the quarterback’s.

Before then, however, the unanimous All-American spent plenty of time speaking with the media, as well as coaches and officials from several NFL teams, including the Giants, as he looks ahead to his professional career.

And, judging by his recent comments, it would appear that it could very well be a match made in heaven between Love and the NFC East outfit.

“Really cool people. I like them a lot, I feel like they like me a lot as well. Hopefully they call my name on draft night and we can continue building better relationships,” Love said of his interactions with the Giants this week to NorthJersey.com and The Record.

“Every team has great players, but the Giants in general, being able to play with a back like Skatt (Cam Skattebo), to have someone who is more of a veteran than me that I can learn from, I’d be able to take away a lot from that.”

While Love’s talents are undeniable and any team would be lucky to have him, there are some minor doubts over whether the Giants will really go for him come the NFL Draft in April, given they already boast a backfield tandem of Cam Skattebo and Tyrone Tracy.

New head coach John Harbaugh, however, was no stranger to having star running backs on his Baltimore Ravens teams, while league sources at the Combine indicated that, behind the scenes, there’s an expectation that he will be open to pursuing productive running backs in free agency.

Love is seen by many as the best offensive prospect in the Class of 2026, trailing only quarterback Fernando Mendoza, Indiana’s Heisman Trophy winner, but whether the Giants would actually send in the card with his name on it come Draft Night is no guarantee.

Regardless, a player who earned unanimous All-America honors and the Doak Walker Award as the nation’s top running back will be hot property, and according to one NFL talent evaluator speaking to NorthJersey.com and The Record, “should be at or near the top of everybody’s board.”

Love rushed for 1,372 yards and 18 rushing touchdowns in 2025, averaging about 6.9 yards per carry and finishing with 21 total touchdowns, setting a school single-season scoring mark.
