The Minnesota Vikings have informed running back Aaron Jones and defensive tackle Javon Hargrave that they will be released later this month unless a trade is made beforehand, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.The moves would save the Vikings $18.65 million in cap space. Entering this weekend, Minnesota was roughly $43 million over the NFL’s $301.2 million cap.Jones signed with Minnesota in 2024 after seven seasons with the Green Bay Packers. Jones played all 17 games in 2024 with the Vikings, accumulating 1,138 rushing yards and seven total touchdowns. Injuries forced him to miss five games this past season.Jones became a fan favorite in Green Bay after being taken in the fifth round of the 2017 draft out of UTEP.
