The New England Patriots could remain in the mix for a major offseason trade.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler called the Patriots a “logical destination” for A.J. Brown. Executives around the league expect the Philadelphia Eagles to entertain offers for the star wide receiver.

Other teams have identified Brown’s “true trade value” as a second-round pick. However, Fowler isn’t convinced that will sway Eagles general manager Howie Roseman to move the three-time Pro Bowler.

Meanwhile, ESPN colleague Dan Graziano added that Philadelphia’s asking price “remains too high” for other teams. The Eagles won’t move the 28-year-old to the highest bidder.

“They’d be open to the right offer, but it would have to be a really good one. They don’t want to just get rid of Brown or need him off the team for any chemistry reasons,” Graziano wrote.

“The Eagles will always listen to trade offers, but if they’re going to move Brown, it sounds like they’d have to be blown away. If you’re not ready to talk about at least your first-round pick, I don’t think that conversation is getting very far at the moment.”

The Patriots possess 11 picks in this year’s draft, starting with the No. 31 overall choice. They could be tempted to make a big swing for a playmaker who’s registered 8,029 receiving yards in seven seasons.

Brown is also a Patriots fan who played for head coach Mike Vrabel with the Tennessee Titans, so the betting market agrees with Fowler that New England represents a sensible landing spot. The Patriots have stronger odds than any team of acquiring Brown, but the Eagles remain favored to retain him.
