Chicago Bears wide receiver Luther Burden III in November paid $1.2 million for a five-bedroom house in Libertyville.

A St. Louis-area native, Burden, 22, was drafted last year by the Bears after three standout seasons at the University of Missouri. He played in 15 of the Bears’ games this year.

In Libertyville, Burden’s new house was built in 2005 and has 4½ bathrooms, 10-foot ceilings, hardwood floors, millwork and arched doorways. The kitchen was remodeled in 2022 and has a six-burner Thermador range, a Bosch microwave drawer, a JennAir refrigerator, quartz countertops, a center island that seats four and updated designer lighting.

Other features include a butler’s pantry with a beverage refrigerator, a breakfast room with a coffered ceiling, a family room with custom built-ins, recessed lighting, a gas fireplace and a formal dining room with a tray ceiling, crown molding and wainscoting.

The house has a first-floor office with French doors and transom windows and a primary bedroom suite that was renovated in 2023, which has a tray ceiling with ambient uplighting, two walk-in closets and an en-suite bathroom with heated floors, double vanities, a soaking tub and a walk-in shower with a bench.

The house also has a recently finished basement with a gym and a gas fireplace, along with a fifth bedroom. Outside, the house has a deep three-car garage and a brick paver patio with a built-in fire pit.

The house was listed in July at slightly less than $1.3 million, and in September it underwent a price cut to just under $1.2 million.

Jeff Ohm, who represented Burden in the purchase, did not respond to a request for comment. Tracy Botten and Lisa Wolf of Keller Williams North Shore West represented the sellers.

The house had a $23,791 property tax bill in the 2024 tax year.
