Last week, it appeared trade chatter surrounding Las Vegas Raiders star defensive end Maxx Crosby had cooled during the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, Indiana.

On Monday, the talk reappeared, and a Crosby could be moved fairly quickly this offseason.

The Chicago Bears have been linked to Crosby since their run in the playoffs ended with a loss to the Los Angeles Rams in the Divisional Round. The Bears are in need of another pass rusher as they make a push for the Super Bowl next season in quarterback Caleb Williams’ third season on a rookie contract.

Per Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated, the Bears are one of the teams keeping tabs on Crosby.

“We should know soon enough which path the Raiders are taking, with teams like Dallas, Chicago, Baltimore, Buffalo, New England, Philadelphia and the Rams keeping tabs on his availability,” Breer wrote.

Breer noted the Raiders are likely to plan their trade around building for their exepected No. 1 pick in April’s draft, quarterback Fernando Mendoza. The Bears would have something to offer Las Vegas in veteran wide receiver DJ Moore, a helpful target for the Indiana quarterback.

Breer believes a trade for Crosby would take place this week before the start of the league new year on March 11 when teams are budgeting their cap for the 2026 campaign.

“I’d lean toward a Maxx Crosby trade happening, and maybe this week,” Breer wrote. “But there’s going to have to be some needle-threading.

“I don’t think the Raiders want to go through the song-and-dance of shopping him, nor do I believe Crosby wants it advertised that he’s looking for suitors, given his bond with owner Mark Davis, and his view of himself as a Raider.”

Crosby, 28, was a fifth-round pick in the 2019 draft. If he came to Chicago, he’d be in the prime of his career.

The two-time All-Pro wants to win, and the Bears would offer him a chance to compete for a Super Bowl next season. Crosby has recorded 439 tackles and 69.5 sacks during his career.
