The Raiders are only going to trade Maxx Crosby if they receive an offer they can’t refuse
The Las Vegas Raiders have some big decisions to make this offseason. The team did well to find a new head coach, Klint Kubiak, and it seems likely that they will select star quarterback prospect Fernando Mendoza with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. However, there are some serious questions surrounding Maxx Crosby‘s future with the team.
After he got shut down early in the 2025 campaign, reports emerged indicating that Crosby wanted to be traded this offseason. While neither side has indicated a trade will happen, behind the scenes, the Raiders are fielding trade offers for Crosby. However, according to NFL insider Adam Schefter of ESPN, Las Vegas isn’t in a rush to trade away its superstar pass rusher, despite what other rumors may be suggesting.
Raiders Make Maxx Crosby Trade Stance Extremely Clear

After getting selected in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft, Crosby has spent the first seven seasons of his career with the Raiders. During that time, he’s turned himself into one of the most relentless defensive players in the league. Not only can Crosby get to the quarterback on a consistent basis, but he is also a fantastic run defender, making him a three-down defensive lineman.
While Las Vegas labored through a miserable season in 2025, Crosby did his best to make sure he was wreaking havoc on defense at all times. Crosby finished with 73 tackles (a career-high 28 of which went for a loss), 10 sacks, one interception, six pass deflections, and two forced fumbles. Simply put, Crosby is capable of making an impact on every facet of the game.
With the Raiders seemingly tracking towards another rebuild, though, Crosby’s future with the team is up in the air. Las Vegas isn’t going to give him away for free, but it recognizes that now could be the time to move on from him. As Schefter recently revealed, though, the front office isn’t going to deal Crosby away unless it gets an offer it can’t refuse.
“I think A.J. Brown and Maxx Crosby are in a similar situation,” Schefter said on “The Pat McAfee Show.” “Both teams not wanting to deal their guys, both teams open to listening, and both teams have to have an offer that they can’t say no to.”
Maxx Crosby Trade Rumors May Have No End in Sight

(Photo by Candice Ward/Getty Images)This isn’t the first time that Crosby’s name has popped up in trade rumors, but this is the first time it’s felt like there’s a real shot he’s on the move. A new coaching regime has taken over Las Vegas, and while Kubiak would obviously love to have Crosby at his disposal, there’s no telling how long it’s going to take for him to get this team back on track.
The Raiders have set a high asking price for Crosby, which shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. And unless a team gives them what they are looking for, they are likely going to hold onto him for the time being. Things can change quickly in the NFL, and while a Crosby trade could happen at any time, it sounds like it isn’t necessarily a guarantee that he will be landing with a new team this offseason.
