On Monday, the Cleveland Browns started a mass evacuation and digging of the hole for the new Huntington Bank Field in Brook Park.
It’s the first big step on their new $2.4b indoor stadium.
“Today marks another exciting milestone moment for the new Huntington Bank Field Stadium,” Managing and Principal Partners Dee and Jimmy Haslam said in a statement.
“We are thrilled to continue to invest not only in this stadium project and mixed-used development, but in Northeast Ohio.

“This is more than just a stadium, and we believe that by committing over $2 billion in private investment, we will be part of creating a transformative world class experience for our community and generate significant economic impact through construction, jobs, and future year-round events.
“Northeast Ohio deserves this and we are committed to continuing to invest in the growth of our region.”
A ceremonial groundbreaking is set to be on April 30, as structural work will then begin, the Haslems added.
The Browns expect the new stadium to be ready for the 2029 season.
They first announced their plan to have their new stadium in Brook Park in October 2024.
It’ll seat 67,500-plus fans and will host big-time events year-round, not just Browns games.
The domed stadium will host NCAA Final Fours, international soccer matches, and concerts for crowds of up to 75,000.
The Brook Park venue is 13 to 17 miles away from the Browns’ Huntington Bank Field in Cleveland, Ohio.
The renderings of the new $2.4bn stadium were released last month.
