The Seattle Seahawks have a lot of outgoing unrestricted free agents this offseason, but none might be more interesting than Kenneth Walker III.

Running backs typically don’t land big contracts, but after Walker helped lead the Seahawks to a Super Bowl win, earning Super Bowl MVP honors, he is in line for a big deal this offseason.
And as ESPN’s Ben Solak pointed out, following the New York Jets decision to place the $14.293 million franchise tag on Breece Hall, Walker should be in line to get a ton of money this offseason.
Kenneth Walker gets great news from Jets amid $14M Breece Hall decision
“Kenneth Walker, prepare to get PAID,” Solak posted on Twitter/x in response to Hall getting franchise-tagged.
While there’s been plenty of buzz about Walker getting a lucrative contract this offseason, there have been some questions about how big a deal it will be.

But, after this decision from the Jets, taking Hall off the free agent market on a $14.293 million contract, Walker will have plenty of leverage to demand as much, if not more than Hall, this offseason.
Hall had 1,065 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 243 rushing attempts last year. Walker had 1,027 rushing yards and five touchdowns on 221 attempts.
As a receiver, Walker had 31 receptions on 36 targets for 282 yards and no touchdowns. Hall had 36 receptions on 48 targets for 350 yards and a touchdown.

But, in the playoffs, Walker ran for 313 yards and four touchdowns on 65 attempts to go with nine receptions for 104 yards en route to the best playoff performance by any player this year.
With Hall landing this $14.293 million franchise tag, instead of the $11.7 million transition tag, Walker will have plenty of leverage in contract talks as he looks to easily make top-10 running back money.
To do so, he either needs at least $30 million total, or $10 million per-year. With the Hall franchise tag, seeing Walker eclipse those marks seems like a certainty if the Seahawks don’t place a tag on him.
The 25-year-old Seahawks fan favorite, if he hits free agency, is likely going to land a massive contract this offseason with a new team.
