With Stafford nearing the end of his career, the Rams organization is ready to make big roster moves this offseason to help maximize the Super Bowl championship window it has with Stafford.
“How much longer really, not is he going to be able to, but how much longer does he want to do it?” McVay said to reporters about how much longer Stafford will play in the NFL. “So you’re always thinking about those things, but also not losing sight of taking advantage of how precious it is to be able to have somebody of his caliber. And I’m not naive to how rare that is.”

What Big Roster Moves Could The Rams Make?
According to The Athletic’s Nate Atkins, the Rams are open to trading one of its first-round picks for a developed superstar. Atkins also reported that improving the secondary is a priority for the Rams and that the organization is involved in blockbuster trade talks.
Les Snead sounds like a GM ready to be aggressive to maximize Matthew Stafford’s window:
– Open to trading a 1st-rounder for a proven player
– Secondary a big focus — “Is there an All-Pro that you could add?”
– Trade talks are intense this time of year and they’re having them

The Rams have the No. 13 and No. 29 overall pick in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft. The franchise could trade one of these picks for a Pro Bowl level player that can help bring a Super Bowl title to LA.

One of the franchise’s biggest needs this offseason is a cornerback, as Cobie Durant, Roger McCreary and Ahkello Witherspoon are pending free agents. The Rams could also lose safety Kam Curl in free agency.
The Rams have about $40 million in cap space that sets the franchise up to make some big roster moves this offseason.
