As free agency rapidly approaches, the Pittsburgh Steelers could be forced to address a few major questions on the offensive side of the ball, particularly if veteran starting left guard Isaac Seumalo departs this offseason.

There are few guards capable of stepping into Seumalo’s role, however, such as Ed Ingram of the Houston Texans, who could emerge as a viable option should Pittsburgh need another starting-caliber left guard.

Although Ingram primarily played on the right side of the offensive line throughout his first four years in the league, he possesses starting experience at either guard position during his time with LSU in college football.

Putting together a breakout season last year, Ingram could ride the momentum and become exactly what the Steelers need at their left guard position moving forward, potentially teaming with center Zach Frazier and right guard Mason McCormick to form one of the league’s best interior offensive lines.

Contract prediction

Although Ingram won’t command top guard money, he could see an average annual salary of around $10–11 million. We at Steelers Wire predict Ingram to sign a three-year, $33 million contract in free agency.
