When it comes to the Cincinnati Bengals and NFL free agency, especially on defense, somehow obtaining Minkah Fitzpatrick is the big talking point right now.

Whether the Bengals want to go that blockbuster route, either via trade or if Miami releases Fitzatrick, remains to be seen.

Otherwise, the Bengals will look to free agency to get a veteran running mate for Jordan Battle.

Here’s another name to consider: Baltimore Ravens safety Ar’Darius Washington.

Bleacher Report’s Brad Gagnon spotlighted the former undrafted free agent as the best value heading to the market at the safety spot:

“In addition to having a killer instinct, Washington has flashed versatility while being relied upon in the slot, the box and deep. He was a top-10-graded safety at PFF in 2024 but may have been forgotten at this point.”

Frankly, Bengals fans probably won’t like this one too much. The last time they appeared to get a value steal on the market from Baltimore, it turned into the Geno Stone disaster.

Washington has his positives, of course, but he just missed most of last year with a torn achilles.

The Bengals sound ready to get some proven veteran leadership back on the defense in starting roles, not roll the dice on another possible upside signing.
