Maxx Crosby, the Las Vegas Raiders’ star defensive end, remains at the center of trade rumors as the 2026 NFL offseason heats up. Despite multiple teams reportedly showing interest, the Raiders are standing firm on their price.

Crosby, a Pro Bowl-caliber pass rusher and one of the league’s most feared defensive players, has been mentioned as a potential target for teams including the Chicago Bears and San Francisco 49ers. However, Las Vegas has reportedly made it clear that they will not part with their defensive anchor easily.

At the end of February, Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk reported that the Raiders were seeking two first-round draft picks plus a player in return for Crosby. According to Dianna Russini of The Athletic, that stance has not changed.

“So where do things stand right now with Maxx Crosby? Based on several conversations with league sources, the Raiders have not moved off from their asking price of two first-round picks and a player,” Russini wrote.

“Several teams are interested, but decision makers are getting mixed signals from the Raiders in regards to their genuine interest in dealing their star.”

Crosby reportedly wants out of Las Vegas but has chosen not to make public complaints, citing his respect for the Raiders’ fanbase.

He has quietly indicated that he feels his tenure with the team is coming to an end, though he has yet to formally communicate that to management. Until then, the Raiders appear unwilling to budge on trade negotiations.

The trade outlook

Crosby’s value in the league is clear. He has consistently been among the NFL leaders in sacks and quarterback pressures over the past three seasons. His combination of athleticism, experience, and leadership makes him one of the most coveted defensive players on the market.

Yet, the Raiders’ firm asking price has reportedly caused hesitation among potential suitors, slowing down the trade process.

The situation also highlights the delicate balance between player satisfaction and organizational leverage. While Crosby remains committed to performing at a high level on the field, his desire for a change of scenery is becoming increasingly evident.

Analysts suggest that unless he formally requests a trade or signals a willingness to hold out, Las Vegas will continue to demand top compensation.

For now, the Raiders and Crosby remain at an impasse. The offseason could see a dramatic shift if Crosby formally communicates his intentions, or if a team is willing to meet Las Vegas’ steep price.

Until then, the saga remains one of the most closely watched stories in the NFL, with both player and team strategy hanging in the balance.
