Former Arizona Cardinals first-round NFL Draft pick Robert Nkemdiche was taken to jail at some point between Feb. 22 and Feb. 28, per TMZ Sports.

According to a police report that TMZ Sports obtained, Nkemdiche was seen leaving a Kroger in Georgia with “many large objects, square and rectangular shapes, consistent with concealed grocery items, inside his sweatpants.” According to the officer who noticed, a call was made to bring in some backup as the 296-pound Nkemdiche strolled to a gas station.

The report then states that the police officer put the 2016 No. 29 overall NFL draft selection in double-locked handcuffs. The officer said that Nkemdiche did not have any items in his sweatpants at that point. The officer did say, however, that candy bars, almond milk and frozen grocery items were located in the parking lots of the gas station and the Kroger.

The police headed to the Kroger and asked if the items were stolen, but the police officer stated that a store representative said they did not want to press charges over the items being stolen. TMZ reports that they did, however, “want Nkemdiche criminally trespassed from the establishment.”

After this, the police found that there were multiple warrants for Nkemdiche in several states. Three warrants were even in Georgia. Per the police officer, county officials asked for a hold to be put on the Ole Miss product.

The saga resulted in Nkemdiche being booked in jail.
