The Las Vegas Raiders are expected to pursue Seattle Seahawks players in NFL free agency. That’s a straightforward expectation given the Raiders hired Klint Kubiak to be the new head coach. The former Seahawks’ offensive coordinator would probably love to reunite with some of the players he won Super Bowl 60 with.

The main target could be wide receiver Rashid Shaheed. The Seahawks acquired Shaheed at the trade deadline. He made a massive impact on the Seahawks’ championship run, both as a receiver and dynamic special teams returner.

The initial expectation was that the Seahawks would probably re-sign Shaheed. Well, the latest update indicates discussions in Seattle may break down. Adam Schefter is reporting that Shaheed and the Seahawks aren’t close on extension talks and may test the open market. The Raiders should absolutely be attentive.

The Seahawks have to sign Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Devon Witherspoon to extensions. A lot of their cap space will disappear once those deals are completed. If Shaheed prices himself out of Seattle’s comfort zone, expect the Raiders to make an offer, considering they possess approximately $88.1 million in cap space.

Kubiak coached Shaheed in New Orleans when he was offensive coordinator with the Saints. That relationship played a role in the Seahawks’ midseason decision to acquire him. With Shaheed possibly leaving Seattle, the Raiders could look to reunite them for a third run.
