The Miami Dolphins had an average pass-rush unit in 2025, as they finished with 38 sacks, which was good for 17th while their 7.04% sack percentage was actually 13th among all teams last year.

However, after moving on from Bradley Chubb this offseason, Miami’s currently looking very thin on the edge, so they’ll have to address the position group before they step on the field for their first game in 2026.

With that, Pro Football Focus’ Trevor Sikkema recently put out a post-combine mock draft, and he projects that Miami will look to improve on the edge and take Texas Tech’s David Bailey in the first round (No. 11 overall).

“New Dolphins head coach Jeff Hafley emphasized wanting to get better in the trenches, an important goal after the team traded Jaelen Phillips at the trade deadline and released Bradley Chubb. They have Chop Robinson, but still need more pass-rush potential. Bailey’s 4.50-second 40-yard dash at 251 pounds is enough to make him one of the more coveted pass rushers — and he could go even higher than this,” Sikkema wrote.

“He finished 2025 as the highest-graded edge defender in college football (93.3) and with the top pass-rush win rate (38.6%) in the Power Four.”

Bailey, 22, was a four-star recruit out of Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California, before spending three years at Stanford and one at Texas Tech.

In 46 games between the two schools, he appeared in 46 games and recorded 163 tackles, 29 sacks, 10 forced fumbles, four passes defensed and one fumble recovery. This past season, Bailey led the FBS in sacks (14.5) and earned All-Big 12 and All-American honors.
