After five seasons with the Cleveland Browns, former first round pick Jedrick Wills opted to take a year off from football in 2025. The reasoning had to do with healing his knee, which led to back-to-back season-ending surgeries in Cleveland.
However, after his year off from football, the former No. 10 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft is ready to get back out there. NFL insider Jordan Schultz has reported that Wills is set to take a tour of teams as NFL free agency gets set to begin on Monday. Here is what Schultz has to say on Wills as he gets set to make his return:
“Former Browns OT Jedrick Wills, who sat out last season to fully recover from a knee injury, has been on a tour of visits with NFL teams — including the Patriots and today with the Lions. Visits are expected to continue into next week. A former top-10 pick, Wills — who is just 26 — fully expects to be with an NFL team this season.”
How the former Browns bust fits in around the NFL
At this point, it seems unlikely that any team would pencil Wills in as a starter after a disastrous tenure in Cleveland and a subsequent year off to let his knee heal. However, given his experience at right tackle at Alabama before coming to the NFL, and his experience at left tackle with the Browns, teams could view Wills as a swing tackle.

This would fit Wills best, especially until he can find his bearings again at the NFL level. His first step is getting a fresh start outside of Cleveland, where his welcome had worn completely out. We’ve seen players revive their careers with a fresh start plenty of times before, and Wills could be the next.
However, do not expect Wills to get starter money in NFL free agency.
