As the 2026 offseason gets closer, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will certainly be looking for ways to upgrade their pass rush, and one name that could quietly make a lot of sense in free agency is veteran edge rusher Joey Bosa.

Bosa is no longer in the early-prime phase of his career, but he’s still capable of being a disruptive presence off the edge when healthy. During the 2025 season with the Bills, he appeared in 15 games and finished with 29 total tackles, 5.0 sacks, five forced fumbles, and two passes defensed. The sack numbers don’t jump off the page, but the turnover production and consistent pressure show he can still impact games in a meaningful way. Tampa’s defensive front flashed at times last season, but the unit is missing a proven pass rusher to complement Yaya Diaby and create more consistent disruption.

Adding a veteran like Bosa would give the Bucs experience and versatility while also preventing the team from forcing a pass-rush pick early in the draft.

Financially, the move could also line up with market developments. According to Spotrac, Bosa played on a one-year deal worth roughly $12.6 million last season, with incentives boosting the total value. That type of short-term, incentive-based structure feels realistic again, especially considering his recent injury history and age entering his 30s. There’s always some risk when signing veteran edge rushers, but the upside is clear.

If the Buccaneers want a proven name who can still generate pressure and, more importantly, create turnovers, Bosa stands out as a logical free agency candidate to watch.
