Exiting the 2025 NFL schedule release, Cincinnati Bengals fans are understandably hopeful that the team can avoid a third straight 9-8 finish to a season.

But not everyone sees that happening.

Of the many NFL schedule predictions making the rounds right now, Bleacher Report’s Moe Moton outlines the biggest concerns around the 2025 Bengals quite well while projecting another 9-8 finish:

“Like last year, the Bengals have the firepower to outscore most opponents, but their defense is still a concern. Also, Burrow could feel a lot of pressure from his right side. Cody Ford is a below-average guard, and tackle Amarius Mims is still developing in his second season.”

The concerns about the 2025 Bengals are many, especially on the defensive side of the ball while they reset under Al Golden. The entire offseason has hinged on the idea that better development of players with new coaches in key areas is what will swing things for the franchise.

Not everyone was always going to agree that this approach will spur a rebound season. But, as fans are sure to point out, the sheer bad luck of so many close losses last year, combined with a softer-looking schedule this year, leaves the door open for an improvement in the win column.

But again, on initial projections after the schedule release, few are going above that nine-win mark for the Bengals right now.
