After getting released by the Dolphins, Tyreek Hill is hitting free agency. Which NFL team is going to pick him up for next season?
The NFL offseason is going to be a busy one. A lot of marquee names are on the market, and Tyreek Hill is one of the biggest of them all. After four seasons with the Miami Dolphins, the five-time All-Pro receiver will choose where his journey continues. Who is going to land Hill in this free agency period?
First things first, let’s take a look at the top suitors and their odds to sign Hill on the DraftKings Sportsbook. Here’s a look at the top ten:

It’s notable that the top six in odds are all AFC teams, and the top four are all theoretical conference contenders next year. Let’s examine some of these contenders a bit closer.
The Shrewd Contenders: Kansas City Chiefs (+190), Buffalo Bills (+600), Baltimore Ravens (+800)
A Chiefs reunion has been speculated about for some time. Hill spent six years in Kansas City to start his career, making the Pro Bowl each season while winning a Super Bowl in 2019. The decision to trade Hill confused many, but they sure showed the critics by winning two more rings in his absence. But Hill remained productive, reeling in over 1,700 yards in each of his first two seasons in South Beach. Then the wheels fell off the Mike McDaniel-Tua Tagovailoa offense, and Hill’s production suffered as a result.
The 32-year-old Hill can still fly and would fit right in with this Kansas City receiver room. Rashee Rice wins all over the field, including the red zone, where Hill is less effective. Hill can take the top off the defense, making Xavier Worthy more viable as a gadget player in the flats and over the middle. The Chiefs are already rehabbing a Patrick Mahomes torn ACL, and doing the same for Hill wouldn’t be a huge concern for them.
The primary obstacle? Money. Kansas City has holes to address on the offensive line and all over the defense. They’re getting ahead of some financial constraints by cutting Jawaan Taylor and trading Trent McDuffie, but those are still great players who need replacing. If Hill is out chasing a payday, Kansas City is not the best place for him.
The same concerns apply to the Buffalo Bills, who are currently above the cap line. As we all know, NFL money is quite flexible, and plenty of cutting/trading/restructuring can be done to open space. Hill’s earning potential here is still lower, but he has few obstacles to being at the top of the depth chart. Buffalo’s struggles at wide receiver are widely known, and Hill would be Josh Allen’s best receiver since Stefon Diggs departed in 2023.
Baltimore has money issues as well, but they also have a primo quarterback and a clear need at receiver. With John Harbaugh out the door, the offense should have a fresh look — and Hill would claim the top wide receiver spot quite easily. Zay Flowers has his limitations down the field, and they’d be a great duo together. But the prospect of playing in the AFC North may not be appealing to Hill.
The match makes sense for both sides if Hill wants to prove he can still be a WR1 and contend for a Super Bowl. But after four years of soaking up the sun in Miami, does he want to hunker down in Buffalo or Baltimore? That gives me pause.
Contenders With Cash: Los Angeles Chargers (+800), New England Patriots (+800)
Per Spotrac, no team in the NFL has more current cap space than the Los Angeles Chargers, who have $99.5 million burning a hole in their pocket. Their need is obvious, as none of their receivers had 800+ yards last season. Ladd McConkey and Quentin Johnston are a good pairing in theory, but could use someone who needs marking all over the field.
LA has the money, a great quarterback in Justin Herbert, and plenty of warm weather. They’re projected to be a playoff contender for the third year in a row under Jim Harbaugh. Theoretically, all the pieces are there for both sides.
The New England Patriots already had a need at receiver. After cutting Stefon Diggs, they’re flush with cap space and could give Hill whatever he wants. A pairing with MVP runner-up Drake Maye makes a lot of sense; few quarterbacks are more willing to uncork the deep ball. Cold weather is a factor here, but if Hill wants to get back in the mix for a Super Bowl, few teams can offer him a better chance.
Luxury Retirement Home: Las Vegas Raiders (+1400)
Look, I’m not going to pretend that the Raiders will be anything other than a mess this year. Cleaning up from the disastrous Pete Carroll experiment is going to take some time. But if Hill wants to make big bucks in a low-pressure environment, this is the place for him.
Fernando Mendoza is all but confirmed as a Las Vegas Raider. As the presumed first overall pick, he would need some help out wide. A Brock Bowers-Tyreek Hill duo sounds awfully nice, with Ashton Jeanty working out of the backfield. With some money spent on the offensive line, this could be a nice offense for new head coach Klint Kubiak to work with.
Reality is that a 32-year-old receiver joining a rebuilding squad does not add up to more hardware in Hill’s trophy case. But with a need at receiver and at least $85 million in cap space to spend, this pairing makes an awful lot of sense.
