The Chicago Bears have lost the Maxx Crosby sweepstakes. The Las Vegas Raiders have traded the five-time Pro Bowl edge rusher to the Baltimore Ravens, as first reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The Ravens are sending 2026 and 2027 first-round picks to the Raiders in exchange for one of the league’s best edge rushers. Meanwhile, the Bears remain in need of pass rush help heading into free agency and the 2026 NFL Draft.

Chicago was one of the teams connected to Crosby for the last few days, where they were monitoring the situation and showed interested in landing him. But perhaps two first-round picks was just too expensive for general manager Ryan Poles.

While the Bears lost out on Crosby, there are still some solid options at edge rusher for the Bears in free agency, including Trey Hendrickson and Cam Jordan, who both have ties to defensive coordinator Dennis Allen. And both wouldn’t require giving up draft capital.

Last season, Chicago totaled just 35 sacks (seventh fewest in the NF) and improving the pass rush, both edge and interior, remains one of several important needs for the Bears this offseason.
