The San Francisco 49ers have three young safeties (Ji’Ayir Brown, Malik Mustapha and Marques Sigle) who could play significant roles next year, but with Jason Pinnock set to leave in free agency, the team may need more depth at the position.
With that, San Francisco is speaking to several defensive back prospects ahead of the 2026 NFL draft, and in an interview with Sports Illustrated’s Justin Melo, Arizona State safety Myles Rowser revealed that he’s one of them.
“I had really good meetings with the Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers, Baltimore Ravens, and New York Jets,” Roswer said. “Those were a few teams that stuck out. The Pittsburgh Steelers, Philadelphia Eagles, and the Ravens have all since reached out to me again.
“The 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs, they’ve met with my defensive coordinator at Arizona State to talk about me as well. They have a really strong relationship. They had a good heart-to-heart about me.”
Rowser, the nephew of Super Bowl champion John Rowser, was a four-star recruit out of Belleville High School in Belleville, Michigan, before spending one year at New Mexico State and two at Arizona State.

In 42 career games, Rowser recorded 251 tackles, 11 passes defensed, one interception, one sack, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.
At this point in the process, Roswer is viewed as a Day-3 pick or priority undrafted free agent, so San Francisco should be able to bring him in if they think the meeting went as well as he did.
