The Steelers‘ pursuit of Aaron Rodgers may have just hit another road bump — as insider Jeremy Fowler reported some troubling news on the potential signing.

Fowler, who recently appeared on The Dan Patrick Show, explained what several NFL teams believe is holding up a Steelers deal:

“There’s some teams I’ve talked to that are still kind of wondering — is he just waiting out the Vikings? You know, because the Vikings would be an ideal scenario — one of the best play callers in the league in Kevin O’Connell, nine dome games. You’re guaranteed nine dome games per year. There’s some element of that, but checking with the Vikings — I still don’t expect that. They’re moving forward with J.J. McCarthy. So, he really has no other options, other than Pittsburgh or retire.”

The four-time MVP QB was linked to the Vikings throughout the free agency process — and Steelers legendary QB Ben Roethlisberger even hinted that Rodgers may be holding out for Minnesota’s starting QB spot.

Is Rodgers waiting on the Vikings to see what McCarthy is capable of at OTAs, or is there little stock to what the rest of the NFL believes is going on with his offseason decision-making?
