According to a report from NFL insider Jeremy Fowler, the Kansas City Chiefs will not tender veteran offensive lineman Mike Caliendo before free agency starts this week.
Caliendo, who began his professional career with Kansas City as an undrafted free agent in 2022, was a member of the Chiefs’ Super Bowl LVII and LVIII rosters. While he was never a consistent starter for Kansas City, Caliendo played a key role as a backup blocker for Patrick Mahomes.

Now set to hit the open market, Caliendo will get a chance to earn a high-dollar contract for another team after his 2025 campaign, which saw the former Western Michigan Bronco suit up for all 17 of the Chiefs’ regular-season contests.
Fans should expect Kansas City’s front office to shore up the Chiefs’ offensive line during free agency in March and the 2026 NFL Draft in April.
Stay tuned to see how Chiefs general manager Brett Veach will compensate for the loss of Caliendo in the offseason.
