The Denver Broncos are bringing back tight end/fullback Nate Adkins on a one-year contract, the Denver Post’s Parker Gabriel first reported on Sunday evening.
Adkins (6-3, 252 pounds) originally joined the team as an undrafted free agent out of South Carolina in 2023. The 26-year-old tight end is used primarily as a blocker, but he’s also totaled 24 receptions for 185 yards and four touchdowns in 36 career games. He appeared in 10 games as a rookie and all 17 games in 2024 before injuries limited him to nine games last fall.
Denver reached an agreement on a three-year deal with fellow tight end Adam Trautman earlier in the day. The team now has four tight ends currently signed in Trautman, Adkins, Evan Engram and Caleb Lohner. The Broncos could (and likely will) still target free agent tight ends from other clubs when the negotiating window opens on Monday.
