Happy Sunday Husky fans. The Huskies have a monster recruiting weekend for official visits (I will have the whole list next weekend). The Huskies currently have the 26th best recruiting class in the country. Here are some of the more notable visitors that are heading to Montlake next weekend.
4 star wide receiver Vance Spafford from Mission Viejo HS, CA is the top ranked prospect headed to Montlake next weekend. Rated as the 12th best wide receiver in the country, Spafford is currently committed to Georgia but is looking around at other schools. The Huskies are set to get a visit as is Miami, and Georgia. After the de-commitment from Terrance Saryon the Huskies don’t have a wide receiver committed in the 2026 class. Spafford is a prototypical slot wide receiver, who is listed at 5’11” and around 175 pounds.
4 star edge Landon Barnes from Duncanville HS, TX is set to visit Seattle and check out the Huskies next weekend. Rated as the 21st best edge in the country Barnes is looking at Ohio State, Georgia, Ole Miss, UW, and ASU. The Huskies get the second visit for Barnes who is rated as the 21st best edge in the country. Listed at around 6’4” and around 235 pounds Barnes is one of the top edges in the state of Texas. Last season Barnes had 4 sacks and 40th tackles last season. The Huskies have one edge commit already in the 2026 class who is also set to visit next weekend.
4 star edge Derek Colman-Brusa is the top ranked Husky commit set to visit next weekend. Colman-Brusa who is rated as the 18th best edge in the country will likely wear the hat of recruiter for the Huskies. The Huskies are doing a good job of keeping in-state talent home in the 2026 class and Colman-Brusa was a massive pickup for the Huskies.
4 star wide receiver Madden Williams from St John Bosco HS, CA is another top wide receiver headed to Montlake this weekend. Williams who is currently committed to Texas A&M is set to visit several schools to make sure he has found the right home for him (he will visit USC, Florida State, Texas A&M, and UW). Listed at around 6’1-6’2” and around 185 pounds Williams is a bigger wide receiver that could be a great outside receiver in college.
4 star safety Gavin Day from Faith Lutheran HS, NV is another top target who is scheduled to visit UW next weekend. Day, who is rated as the 19th best safety in the country, was recently offered by the Huskies. Listed at 6’3” and around 190 pounds Day is a prototypical safety who has shown the ability to lay the lumber on the field. The Huskies are battling Arizona, Utah, and Iowa for a commitment for Day and they will get the first chance at impressing him.
4 star edge David Schwerzel from O’Dea HS, WA is another top in-state target for the Huskies that is set to visit this next weekend. The Huskies will likely look at taking 2-3 edges in the 2026 class. Schwerzel was recently given his 4th star by 247sports. Schwerzel is listed at 6’4” and around 275 pounds. With his frame Schwerzel has the potential to grow into a hybrid edge and interior defensive lineman. If the Huskies could land both Schwerzel and and Derek Colman-Brusa they would have a formidable set of edges in the 2026 class. The Huskies are battling Michigan State, UCLA, and Stanford in their efforts to land Schwerzel.
Next weekend the Huskies will host roughly 15 visitors next weekend and I will have a full breakdown once we confirm who all made it. That is all for today and as always follow me @asieverkropp.
