Like they were in 2025, the Carolina Panthers are seemingly on the prowl in free agency.

ESPN senior NFL reporter Jeremy Fowler emptied out his notebook one last time ahead of tomorrow’s opening of the legal tampering period. He writes that the Panthers, who are angling for some notable additions to their defense once again, are expected to be active on multiple fronts.

He writes:

Carolina is lurking in several markets, likely seeking pass-rush and linebacker help. Players such as edge rusher Odafe Oweh and linebacker Devin Lloyd are considered good fits for the Panthers’ defensive scheme. General manager Dan Morgan also was with Buffalo when the franchise drafted free agent linebacker Edmunds.

Oweh, who recorded 17.5 sacks over the past two campaigns, is considered one of the top edge defenders on the open market. The 27-year-old should be able to help with the Panthers’ pass rush, which tallied the second-lowest pressure rate and third-fewest sacks last season.

Lloyd, a first-time Pro Bowler in 2025, and Edmunds are strong options for what’s been a sore spot in Carolina. Starter Christian Rozeboom, who is fresh off leading the team in tackles, is ticketed for free agency as well.
