Players re-signing with Washington

The Washington Commanders announced that they have extended punter Tress Way. Full terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Way (6-1, 220) a three-time Pro Bowler and 12-year veteran, has punted in 196 career regular season games, all with Washington since being claimed off waivers from Chicago during the 2014 preseason. He’s currently tied for fifth on the team’s all-time games played list. Way holds career franchise records in punt yards (39,031), average (46.9) and punts inside the 20-yard line (325).

In 2025, Way earned his third Pro Bowl honor after leading the NFL in percentage of punts downed inside the 20-yard line (52.8), and opponent average starting field position after punts (17.9). Washington’s punt unit also led the league in opponent punt return average (4.6), and opponent punt return yards (114).

The Washington Commanders announced that they have signed offensive lineman Andrew Wylie to a contract extension. Full terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Wylie (6-5, 304) is an eight-year veteran who entered the league as an undrafted free agent and signed with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2018. He has appeared in 116 career regular season games with 93 starts.

Wylie has played for three seasons with Washington (2023-25) and has appeared in 45 total games with 33 starts along with starting three postseason games in 2024.

The Washington Commanders announced that they have signed defensive end Deatrich Wise to a contract extension. Full terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Wise (6-5, 280) is a nine-year NFL veteran who was drafted by the New England Patriots in the fourth round (131st overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft. He has played in 128 career games with 63 starts and totaled 318 tackles, 34.0 sacks, 91 quarterback hits, 34 tackles for loss, 12 passes defensed, five forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.

Wise signed with Washington in 2025 and started in two games for the Commanders at defensive end before suffering a quadriceps injury that sidelined him for the remainder of the season.

The Washington Commanders announced today that they have extended defensive tackle Shy Tuttle. Full terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Tuttle (6-3, 300) is entering his eighth NFL season after originally being signed by the New Orleans Saints in 2019. Tuttle has appeared in 107 career games with 66 starts and has compiled 247 total tackles, 4.5 sacks, 22 passes defensed, 11 tackles for loss, 10 quarterback hits, three fumble recoveries, two forced fumbles and one interception.

Before being acquired on waivers from the Tennessee Titans last season, Tuttle played for the Carolina Panthers (2023-24), and the New Orleans Saints (2019-22).

Last season, Tuttle appeared in 10 games with the Tennessee Titans, starting in one, with 11 total tackles and one tackle for loss. Tuttle played two games with the Commanders in 2025 (Week 17 and Week 18) recording four tackles.

The Washington Commanders announced that they have signed offensive lineman Nick Allegretti to a contract extension. Full terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Allegretti (6-4, 310) is entering his third season with the Commanders. He has appeared in 33 games (21 starts) for Washington.

He entered the league with the Chiefs as a seventh-round draft pick (216th overall) in 2019. Allegretti has played in 107 games, making 34 starts and has won three Super Bowl titles with Kansas City.
