Former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Devin Bush has found a new home. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Bush has reached an agreement with the Chicago Bears on a three-year, $30 million deal that includes $21 million guaranteed.
The Steelers selected Bush with the No. 10 overall pick in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He played in Pittsburgh for four seasons (2019-22) before joining the Seattle Seahawks in 2023. He then joined the Cleveland Browns and turned his career around under defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz the last two seasons.
Bush started 15 games in a promising rookie season in 2019, but he never recovered his form after an ACL injury caused him to miss most of the 2020 season.

Bush wasn’t too happy with the Steelers and Mike Tomlin following his last year with the club.
“It had to do a lot with the culture. Obviously, the history behind it is what it is,” Bush said shortly after signing with Seattle in an interview with The Ian Furness Show Podcast. “Talking to coach [Pete] Carroll on frequent occasions, I feel like it was a good fit,” said Bush. “He is extending that culture that he is familiar with. He is trying to get guys in there that just love football.”
“I walked into his office, he has the music playing, has the pictures up, you know he is watching film. So I got the feel of he is dedicated. He’s all in and doesn’t think about nothing else but Seattle Seahawks and winning. If he puts that much time and energy into his work, I have to match it.”
Bush said he “[had to] get that bad feeling” out of his mouth and stated that he does not know why the Steelers declined his fifth-year option.
“I wish I knew, but to this day, I have no answer,” Bush said. “What I can say is that when one door closes another one opens so I am excited for the opportunity. The way I felt about it was I knew it was a business. It told me that I wasn’t in the future of the Steelers [plans] so that’s fine. There’s 31 other teams out there, Seattle is one of them and now look where I am at.”
‘A native of Pembroke Pines, Florida, Bush has recorded 524 tackles (299 solos), seven sacks, four forced fumbles, six fumble recoveries, 24 passes defensed, five interceptions and two touchdowns in his professional career.
Bush had a career year with the Browns last season, recording 125 tackles, including seven tackles for loss, three interceptions, two pick-sixes, eight pass breakups, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, two sacks and four quarterback hits.
After a rocky start to his career, Bush is now rewarded with a hefty contract from the Bears after two solid seasons in Cleveland.
