Could the Carolina Panthers facilitate a homecoming for one of the top run-stuffers on the open market?
Free-agent defensive lineman DJ Reader joined Up & Adams on Monday, just upon the start of this year’s legal tampering period. And as the deals were (reportedly) flying, host Kay Adams asked the Greensboro, N.C. native if he’d be interested in playing for his hometown Panthers.

Here was his response:
In addition to being from the area, Reader also played his collegiate ball at nearby Clemson University. He was a Tiger from 2012 to 2015, before being selected in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
The 31-year-old Reader has gone on to amass a decade’s worth of NFL experience—having picked up stops with the Houston Texans, Cincinnati Bengals and Detroit Lions. His 10th campaign saw him make 17 starts for Lions while recording 28 combined tackles.
