The Green Bay Packers are losing linebacker Quay Walker to the Las Vegas Raiders. The 2022 first-round pick and 2025 team captain has agreed to sign a three-year, $40.5 million deal with the Raiders, per Adam Schefter of ESPN.
The Packers declined Walker’s fifth-year option ahead of the 2025 season and were then unable to come to terms on an extension. Reversing course over the weekend, the Packers agreed to send defensive tackle Colby Wooden to the Indianapolis Colts for veteran linebacker Zaire Franklin, who will fill the hole left behind by Walker.
Walker’s new deal with the Raiders averages $13.5 million per season, thrusting him into the top 10 among off-ball linebackers in yearly average. The deal also includes $20 million guaranteed. Given the yearly value, the Packers are likely to receive a fifth-round compensatory pick for losing Walker.
The Packers took Walker with the 22nd overall pick in the 2022 draft. He went on to start 57 games over the last four seasons in Green Bay, producing four 100-tackle seasons, 9.0 sacks and 29 tackles for loss. He wore the captain’s “C” patch for the Packers in 2025.
The Raiders are pairing Walker with Nakobe Dean, another free-agent signing and Walker’s former teammate at Georgia.
