The Kansas City Chiefs are entering a new league year without four defensive backs from last season, who have Super Bowl-winning experience, with yet another departure late Monday night.

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Tennessee Titans are signing former Chiefs cornerback Joshua Williams to a two-year deal.

Williams earned significant respect from Chiefs defensive backs coach Dave Merritt for his growth.

“Josh is one of those young men who works better when you give them more reps in practice, probably 90% of our locker room,” said Merritt during a 2024 press conference, “Once you give them more reps and they get more comfortable, they can go out and execute what we’re asking them to do.”

Williams had a standout moment in the 2022 AFC Championship against the Cincinnati Bengals. He secured a clutch interception on Joe Burrow, which helped the Chiefs preserve the 23–20 victory.
