After the first day of NFL free agency saw over 100 players agree to new contracts, who are the best available free agents on Day 2 for the Indianapolis Colts?

The highlight of free agency so far for the Colts has been retaining wide receiver Alec Pierce, who signed a massive four-year, $116 million deal.

Indianapolis also bolstered their pass rush depth by signing Arden Key and traded Michael Pittman to the Steelers to help provide salary cap relief.

Focusing on positions that the Colts should still be looking to address, here are Gregg Rosenthal’s best available free agents heading into Tuesday.

Best available free agent defensive ends

What’s the need? The Colts signed Key but lost Kwity Paye to the Raiders, while Samson Ebukam and Tyquan Lewis are free agents as well. In addition to depth, more pass-rush juice is needed after the Colts ranked 30th in ESPN’s pass-block win rate metric in 2025.

What’s the need? This room is short on experience after trading Zaire Franklin. Jaylon Carlies, who has played just over 200 career defensive snaps, is the most experienced player on the Colts roster at this position.

What’s the need? With Nick Cross a free agent, the starting role next to Cam Bynum is available. Hunter Wohler could be an option on the roster to take over, but banking on a former seventh-round pick who missed his entire rookie season to step into a larger role comes with risks. After signing Bynum to a big deal last offseason, we may not see the Colts be big spenders at this position.

What’s the need? With Tyler Warren leading the way, this isn’t a pressing need, but both Mo Alie-Cox and Drew Ogletree are currently free agents. Depth and another blocking presence are needed.

What’s the need? I doubt we see the Colts spend much, if anything, at wide receiver, but without Pittman, this unit could use an addition. However, my guess is that Chris Ballard accomplishes that in the draft.
