In his recent 2026 NFL mock draft for Sporting News, Vinnie Iyer has the Denver Broncos beefing up their interior defensive line after letting John Franklin-Myers walk during free agency.
Iyer’s mock draft sends Texas Tech defensive tackle Lee Hunter to Denver at pick No. 30 in the first round. “The Broncos have loved Allen for a while but they also need defensive tackle reinforcement and came away very impressed overall about Hunter after he continued his fast rise at the Combine,” Iyer wrote for Sporting News.

Hunter (6-3, 318 pounds) ran a 40-yard dash in 5.18 seconds and a 10-yard split in 1.79 seconds at the NFL combine. He totaled 41 tackles, 2.5 sacks and one forced fumble in 14 games with the Red Raiders last fall. Before that, he spent the first three years of his college career at UCF, recording 131 tackles and five sacks in 38 games.
The 2026 NFL draft will be held in Pittsburgh from April 23-25. After receiving two compensatory picks, Denver will hold nine selections this spring.
