The San Francisco 49ers lost defensive coordinator Robert Saleh to the Tennessee Titans, where he was named head coach. Heading into Tuesday, the only person joining Saleh on his journey from the 49ers to the Titans was Gus Bradley.
However, on Tuesday, Saleh stole his first player from San Francisco, as ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the Titans agreed to a two-year, $8 million deal with defensive lineman Jordan Elliott.
Elliott, 28, joined the 49ers in 2024 after starting his NFL career with the Cleveland Browns. The former All-SEC defensive lineman appeared in 31 games (and started 29) over his two seasons with San Francisco and recorded 50 tackles and a pass defensed.
With Elliott’s departure and the duo of Kevin Givens and C.J. West still unsigned, the 49ers are light in the middle of their defensive line. Only Alfred Collins, C.J. West, Sebastian Valdez and Evan Anderson fill out the position group for San Francisco.
