In their latest 2026 NFL mock draft for Yahoo! Sports, Nate Tice and Charles McDonald have the Denver Broncos adding to an already-stacked position on defense.
In the first round of the Yahoo mock draft, the Broncos add Miami edge defender Akheem Mesidor. This was Tice and McDonald’s commentary on the selection:
Another pass rusher for the Broncos because that’s what we do with teams at the bottom of a mock draft. Mesidor showed he can put heat on the quarterback on the edge and the interior of Miami’s defensive line, registering 12.5 sacks in the Hurricanes’ run to the national championship game. Pro Football Focus gave him a 92.5 pass rush grade, which is third among edge rushers. His PFF run defense score was 88.3, which ranked in the 91st percentile.
Denver already has Jonathon Cooper, Nik Bonitto, Jonah Elliss, Dondrea Tillman and Que Robinson at outside linebacker, so if they added Mesidor, the club would presumably make a corresponding trade to make room.

The Broncos received two compensatory picks ahead of the new league year, and the team now holds nine selections in the 2026 NFL draft, held in Pittsburgh from April 23-25.
