One of the main cogs in the wheel that has been the Cleveland Browns over the last four years has been the punter, Corey Bojorquez.
Bojorquez joined the Browns in 2022 and has been the left leg that fans have become (way too) used to over that time span. He posted late Wednesday night on Instagram that he is returning to the Dawg Pound in 2026.

Bojorquez and the special teams as a whole had an abysmal season last year. He set his career high in punts with 91 while posting his worst punt yard per kick average since his second season in 2019. What was worse was his 37-yard net average, which was the worst mark of his career. He added career highs in touchbacks and blocked kicks in a year that everyone wants to forget from a special teams perspective.
Having a good punter can be a very important weapon for a team. If you don’t believe me, look no further than the Super Bowl when the Seattle special teams won the football game. Bojorquez has that type of talent, but it just eluded him in the 2025 season.
Browns bring back all three Special Teamers
With the deal in place to bring Bojorquez back, Cleveland returns their special teams trio in its entirety from last year. Bojorquez, kicker Andre Szmyt, and long snapper Rex Sunahara will all be returning to provide that level of continuity and familiarity that is so important to this position group.
The lone change in that position group is at the head of the snake. Byron Storer took over the duties that were left behind by Bubba Ventrone after a season full of struggles.

Storer has spent his young career cutting his teeth under Rich Bassacia in Green Bay as the special teams assistant. Storer comes to Cleveland with very high expectations for this position group.
Cleveland’s new head coach, Todd Monken, is going to be a force of excellence out of all of his units. He demands accountability, and the guys he hired to coach his football team are going to be under daily pressure from the head man.
That goes triple for the special teams group, and with the return of Bojorquez, Cleveland will go into the 2026 season with the incumbents in place and ready to roll into another football season.
