The Chicago Bears were able to plug a number of holes on the roster through free agency. However, there is still a chance to complete their roster, and that is through the NFL Draft. The Bears hold the 25th pick in April’s draft, so they can be in a position to get an impactful player late in the first round. Let’s take a closer look at The Athletic’s mock draft and who they have the Bears taking.
The Chicago Bears draft Florida Gators defensive tackle Caleb Banks in The Athletic’s mock draft

The Athletic’s Nick Baumgardner wrote a one-round mock draft right before the legal tampering period began. In this mock draft, he would have Chicago select Florida Gators defensive tackle Caleb Banks. Below is the snippet he included about the selection:
“If his medicals are clear, Banks is a guy I’m betting on. The 6-6, 327-pounder broke his foot in September and fought his tail off to get back for the last two games of the year, on a bad Florida team, before working out at the Senior Bowl and combine. Most players these days in his situation would’ve packed it in.”
Banks played four years of college football, three with the Gators and his freshman season with the Louisville Cardinals. Last season, he was limited to just a pair of games after suffering a broken foot. He would play in 21 games in college and record 48 total tackles (20 solo, 28 assisted) with 6.5 sacks, one pass deflection, and a pair of forced fumbles.
The Bears are in a position where they need to bolster the defensive line as Gervon Dexter Jr. and Grady Jarrett are projected to be the starting defensive tackles right now. Chicago needs to be able to create pressure and stuff the run, so if Banks is healthy, this could be a good addition to their defensive line.
