Welcome to NFL free agency, Denver Broncos fans.
The “legal tampering” period opened on Monday, and the new league year (and official start of free agency) kicked off on March 11. Denver’s had a quiet start to free agency after going 14-3 and reaching the AFC Championship game last season. It appears that the team might be looking for bargain deals among the later waves of signings.
Before they started in-house re-signings, the Broncos were estimated to have around $25.22 million in salary cap space, and they could create more cap space through simple restructures. Denver might also consider making some roster cuts and trades (quarterback Jarrett Stidham is believed to be a potential trade candidate).
We will be tracking all of the team’s upcoming moves on this page in the coming days. Check back for updates.

Jordan Jackson has officially signed his exclusive rights free agent tender, according to the Denver Gazette’s Chris Tomasson. The one-year tender is worth $1.075 million. Broncos running back Tyler Badie previously signed his tender, so now it’s down to safety Devon Key and outside linebacker Dondrea Tillman. The ERFA tender signings are merely a formality, and all four players should be signed once they’re in town.
Broncos won’t sign RB Emanuel Wilson
Shortly after the Denver Gazette’s Chris Tomasson reported that Denver was “not in the mix” to sign Emanuel Wilson, the running back agreed to sign a one-year deal with the Seahawks. The Broncos appear to be moving forward with J.K. Dobbins, RJ Harvey and Tyler Badie at running back. They will likely add another back during the NFL draft, and budget free agents are still available.
Ex-Broncos LB quickly lands with 49ers
After being officially cut by Denver on Thursday, linebacker Dre Greenlaw returned to the 49ers, his old team. Greenlaw received a one-year deal in San Francisco.
Broncos are last NFL team to sign a free agent
After the Seahawks agreed to terms with safety Rodney Thomas, Denver is now the last remaining team in the NFL that has not yet signed an outside free agent. The Broncos have re-signed a host of in-house free agents, but they have yet to sign any players from other clubs. We’ll see if that changes in the coming hours.
Broncos re-sign WR Lil’Jordan Humphrey
Denver’s bringing back Lil’Jordan Humphrey, one of Sean Payton’s favorite blocking receivers, on a one-year contract.
Broncos re-sign FB Adam Prentice
In a system where head coach Sean Payton loves to use a fullback, the Broncos bring back Adam Prentice on a one-year deal. Prentice was valuable at various times throughout the 2025 campaign in Denver’s rushing attack, and he was also used as a blocker in pass protection, helping keep quarterback Bo Nix upright.
Broncos re-sign DL Matt Henningsen
After spending last season on injured reserve, defensive lineman Matt Henningsen is returning to the team on a one-year contract. Following the departure of JFM, Henningsen should get an opportunity to compete for a rotational role this summer.
Broncos sign first player of NFL new year: A familiar face returns
No, it’s not Von Miller. Tight end Lucas Krull has reached an agreement on a one-year deal to return to Denver, adding depth to the tight end room. Krull started the Broncos’ first three games of the year before the injury bug hit. With Krull’s deal, all four primary tight ends from a season ago return to Mile High.
Broncos free agency update: Quiet entering Day 3
Denver did not make any signings on Day 2, and things are still quiet entering Day 3. Of course, that could change at any time. The start of the NFL’s new league year today (Wednesday) could spark movement. Restricted free agents who did not receive tenders from their current clubs will become unrestricted free agents at 2 p.m. MT. That doesn’t guarantee the Broncos will begin making moves, but it increases the odds with more players available. Denver figures to eventually sign outside free agents, but they’ve been calculated and selective. We’ll see what today brings.
Broncos have not contacted RB Sean Tucker
As of Tuesday afternoon, Denver has not reached out to pending free agent running back Sean Tucker, according to the Denver Post’s Luca Evans. As things stand now, the Broncos are running it back with J.K. Dobbins and RJ Harvey.
Broncos designate Dre Greenlaw as post-June 1 cut
Denver’s going to designate Dre Greenlaw’s release as a post-June 1 cut on Wednesday. That will increase the amount of salary cap space the team will save in 2026.
P.J. Locke leaves Broncos to join Cowboys
Veteran safety P.J. Locke has agreed to sign a one-year, $5 million deal with the Cowboys. Locke has been in Denver since 2019, and appeared in 16 games in 2025, starting three of them. The Broncos will now need more depth at safety behind starters Brandon Jones and Talanoa Hufanga.
Patriots sign WR who drew interest from Broncos
New England’s signing Romeo Doubs, who had been linked to Denver.
Cardinals sign WR who drew interest from Broncos
The Cardinals are signing wide receiver Kendrick Bourne, who had drawn interest from Denver.
Broncos release LB Dre Greenlaw
After one season with Denver, Dre Greenlaw will be cut, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. The move will save about $6 million in salary cap space. He totaled 43 tackles, two pass breakups, two quarterback hits, one interception and one sack in eight games (seven starts) last fall.
Broncos re-sign LB Alex Singleton
The Broncos are running it back with the linebacker trio of Alex Singleton, Justin Strnad and Dre Greenlaw (although Greenlaw’s status is uncertain). Singleton agreed to a two-year deal worth $15.5 million ($11 million guaranteed) on Monday afternoon. Singleton overcame a bout with testicular cancer in 2025 and led the team in tackles (135).
Broncos re-sign RB J.K. Dobbins
The first Bronco signing of the day goes to running back J.K. Dobbins, who reunites with Denver on a two-year deal. Dobbins led the Broncos in rushing yards in 2025, even as he suffered a foot injury in November. Dobbins returns to mentor second-year back RJ Harvey, and provide a veteran voice in the running back room. The Broncos might not be done adding at the position.
DL John Franklin-Myers leaves Broncos for Titans
John Franklin-Myers is leaving Denver to join Tennessee’s defense on a three-year, $63 million contract. JFM will earn an average of $21 million per season with his new team.
WR Jalen Nailor spurns Broncos for division rival
After drawing interest from Denver, wide receiver Jalen Nailor opted to join with the Raiders instead, according to a report from The Athletic’s Dianna Russini.
Broncos target WR Kendrick Bourne
Denver has expressed interest in veteran wide receiver Kendrick Bourne, according to the Denver Gazette.
Broncos bring back Ehlinger on one-year deal
After a one-year audition, third-string quarterback Sam Ehlinger returns to Denver on a one-year deal. Ehlinger’s contract is worth a team-friendly $2 million. Ehlinger was a name to watch, considering the Broncos have listened to trade offers on backup Jarrett Stidham in recent days leading up to the start of free agency on Monday.
Broncos decline tenders for 3 players
Denver did not give tenders to restricted free agent running back Jaleel McLaughlin, tight end Lucas Krull or defensive lineman Matt Henningsen. Those three players are now set to become unrestricted free agents on Monday.
Broncos re-sign another tight end
Denver’s bringing back Nate Adkins on a one-year contract. The Broncos could (and likely will) still target free agent TEs from other clubs during free agency.
Broncos restructure OL to create more cap space
Denver’s restructuring guard Quinn Meinerz’s contract, a move that could free up $11.7 million in salary cap space. Meinerz is the first, but he might not be the last. The Broncos could do this multiple times if needed.
Broncos sign tight end to 3-year deal
Denver’s bringing back tight end Adam Trautman on a three-year contract. That gives the team three TEs currently signed for 2026 as Trautman reunites with Evan Engram and Caleb Lohner.
Broncos linked to RB Travis Etienne
If Denver’s going to make a “splash” at running back, Travis Etienne might be the target. ESPN reported that Etienne has received interest from the Broncos and Chiefs ahead of NFL free agency.
Broncos bring back LB on 3-year contract
Denver’s re-signing Justin Strnad to a three-year deal worth $18 million.
Broncos give ERFA tenders to Tyler Badie, Jordan Jackson
Denver also placed one-year, $1.075 million exclusive rights free agent tenders on running back Tyler Badie and defensive lineman Jordan Jackson, according to multiple reports.
Broncos give ERFA tenders to Devon Key, Dondrea Tillman
Denver placed one-year, $1.075 million exclusive rights free agent tenders on safety Devon Key and outside linebacker Dondrea Tillman on Friday. Those were undoubtedly easy decisions as the ERFA tenders are worth the league minimum.
Broncos have interest in WR Romeo Doubs
Denver “has interest” in wide receiver Romeo Doubs, according to Evans, who also mentioned Jahan Dotson as a potential name to watch.
Broncos bring back guard Ben Powers
Denver has informed Ben Powers that he won’t be traded or cut, and they aren’t asking him to take a pay cut, according to a report from 9News. Powers will return as the team’s starting left guard in 2026.
Broncos officially sign OL to 2-year contract
Denver officially re-signed versatile offensive lineman Alex Palczewski to a two-year contract on Thursday. More in-house moves are likely on the way.
Broncos could trade their backup quarterback
NFL teams have apparently reached out to Denver about a potential trade for backup quarterback Jarrett Stidham.
Broncos place 2nd-round tender on cornerback
Denver placed a second-round tender on cornerback Ja’Quan McMillian. The one-year restricted free agent tender will pay him $5.811 million in 2026.
Broncos decline tender for running back
Denver opted not to place a restricted free agent tender on running back Jaleel McLaughlin, allowing him to become an unrestricted free agent. The team is still interested in bringing McLaughlin back for less than the cheapest tender option ($3.2 million).
