SportsBoom’s Jason La Canfora says that an NFL general manager told him that the Eagles will not trade Brown before June 1, but the franchise is still willing to move the Pro Bowl receiver for the right price.

However, other executives are convinced Brown will stay put in Philadelphia, primarily because of the Eagles’ high asking price.

“Several teams remain interested in acquiring Eagles star receiver AJ Brown, according to NFL sources, but general managers are steadfast that Philadelphia is showing no signs of coming off a very steep price for him and many executives remain unconvinced he will end up dealt,” La Canfora said.

“Howie doesn’t have to do anything now and you’re going to have to really blow him away to get it done before June 1,” a general manager said to La Canfora. “I do think he’ll move him for the right price, but not until June.”

Philadelphia’s asking price for Brown has always been high, and they’ve shown no desire to move off of it.

The New England Patriots, Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles Rams, and Los Angeles Chargers are among the teams that could acquire Brown from the Eagles, but it sounds like they’ll have to wait till the summer to attempt to finalize an agreement with Philadelphia.

New England seems like the favorite for Brown, but both Los Angeles’ franchises are also showing interest, and Las Vegas also can’t be counted out, given their need for a No. 1 receiver and draft capital.

However, the possibility of Brown remaining with the Eagles for another season seems more likely than ever. We’ll see how the situation plays out.
