Former Alabama defensive lineman Da’Shawn Hand has reportedly signed a one-year, $3 million deal with the Atlanta Falcons, per NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.
Hand is an eight-year veteran that will bring elite strength and versatility to the Falcons’ defensive line next season. The former Crimson Tide star was credited with 29 tackles, 1.5 sacks and an interception during his one and only season on the Los Angeles Chargers last year, as Hand was a solid contributor despite being in the second half of his career. Hand could quickly prove to be an excellent fit in Atlanta next season, as the former Alabama playmaker will look to continue thriving throughout year No. 10.
Hand was excellent throughout his four-year tenure in Tuscaloosa. The talented lineman played a key role during the Tide’s national championship runs in both 2015 and 2017, as Hand recorded three sacks in each of Alabama’s title winning campaigns.
Hand will more than likely continue to be a solid contributor throughout his time in Atlanta, as the former Alabama star continues to put together an excellent NFL career.
