The Buffalo Bills added a top NFL name during the first week of 2026 free agency.
In an often tradition, the pass rush was addressed with a bit of a splash by general manager Brandon Beane, this time with Bradley Chubb. He signed a three-year, $43.5 million deal that can reach up to $52.5 million.
In 90 career games, Chubb has 48 sacks including 8.5 last year with the Miami Dolphins.
With such a commodity now in Buffalo, you’ll want to get to know him now.
Here are seven things to know about Chubb:

Chubb was selected fifth overall by Denver Broncos in 2018. That’s one pick before the Bills took quarterback Josh Allen at No. 6 in Round 1 of that same draft.
In a way, Chubb helped Allen find his way to Buffalo.
Emotions
Chubb is known to play with his emotions. Speaking of that and the 2018 draft, Chubb was tabbed by a betting site as the favorite for first player to cry when he was selected according to the Palm Beach Post.
Nick Chubb?
Chubb is also a known name with Nick in front of it. The Pro Bowl NFL running back Nick Chubb and Bradley Chubb are related: They are cousins.
Injury past
Chubb has had NFL success but also an injury bug. He did not play in 2024 because of a torn ACL and has played in less than half of his team’s games in four of his nine other NFL seasons.
On the plus side, Chubb played in all 17 games last season.
Accolades
Not only does Chubb have two Pro Bowls on his career resume, was also a first-round pick… that was traded for a first-round pick. The Dolphins sent a package to the Broncos in 2022 for Chubb… including a future Round 1 selection.
Will play chess
In a video shared to his social media account on Instagram, Chubb was showing off the Chubb Foundation. During some volunteering with youth, Chubb got involved by even playing some chess:
Before joining the Bills, Chubb faced them. In his first four times going against Buffalo, Chubb’s team lost. Finally in his last try in Week 10 last season, his Dolphins won 30-13.
