Former Penn State football defensive end Arnold Ebiketie has signed a one-year, $7.3 million max deal with the Philadelphia Eagles, including $4.3 million fully guaranteed.
Born in Cameroon, Ebiketie moved to the United States with his family at age 13. He found his love for football growing up in Maryland before playing at Temple University. After four years, he transferred to Happy Valley and had a breakout senior year.
While playing defensive end for the Nittany Lions, he led the team in 2021 with 18 tackles for loss and added 9.5 sacks, 62 total tackles, and two forced fumbles. His performance earned him Second-Team All-American honors and First-Team All-Big Ten recognition. His performance at Penn State elevated him to a second-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Ebiketie began his rookie season as a rotational pass rusher, recording 2.5 sacks while adjusting to the professional level. In the coming seasons, he saw his role on the Falcons’ defense gradually expand as he contributed consistently as an outside linebacker. His 129 tackles and 16.5 sacks were enticing enough for the Eagles to pick him up to play in his former home state.
