Savannah Bananas: Saints QB Tyler Shough throws TD at baseball game

March 15, 2026, 6:07 p.m. CT

Banana Ball came to New Orleans, and none other than New Orleans Saints quarterback Tyler Shough stepped in as a guest star in front of a sold-out crowd at the Caesars Superdome. The Savannah Bananas exhibition team entertained tens of thousands of fans over the weekend, and when they rolled out on a reconfigured field that turned the gridiron into a baseball diamond, Shough took over for an appropriate halftime show.

Shough took the field with some nice pop from the crowd, and his back-shoulder throw for a touchdown prompted an even bigger roar. He’s already begun to win over fans after going 5-4 in limited action last season, earning their vote for the Pepsi Zero Sugar Rookie of the Year award, and a place of honor on one of the most popular parade floats this Carnival season. It’s cool to see him get more opportunities like this to give fans in Louisiana something to cheer about. Now he needs to follow it up with a lot of touchdown passes in real NFL games in the fall.
