The San Francisco 49ers‘ receiver room will look quite a bit different when the 2026 NFL season kicks off. Brandon Aiyuk already missed the entirety of the 2024 season, so his eventual expected departure won’t come as a huge surprise.
Meanwhile, Jauan Jennings, the 49ers’ leading receiver from this past season, is already a free agent. Plus, the 49ers have already signed potential future Hall of Fame receiver Mike Evans, who will start alongside Ricky Pearsall. However, now the 49ers have added another receiver into the mix via free agency.

According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, the 49ers have signed wide receiver Christian Kirk to a one-year contract worth up to $6 million.
Kirk spent last season with the Houston Texans, where he recorded 28 receptions for 239 yards and a touchdown. However, he was extremely productive during the postseason, recording another 10 receptions for 164 yards and two touchdowns across two games. Kirk brings five games of postseason experience to San Francisco, where he’ll likely compete for the WR3/4 role.
The 49ers also have Demarcus Robinson, Jacob Cowing, Jordan Watkins, Junior Bergen, Malik Turner, and Colton Dowell competing for snaps in San Francisco. More additions are likely on the way.
