He also is a four-time First-Team All-Pro by The Associated Press, receiving the designations in those same seasons. Following the 2014 and 2018 seasons, he was named Second-Team All-Pro.

Over 14 NFL seasons, Hekker has punted 1,041 times across 229 regular-season games. He has a net average of 42.7 yards per punt and a touchback percentage of 5.6. He has dropped 38.5% of his punts inside the 20.

Hekker will reunite in Minnesota with Vikings Special Teams Coordinator Matt Daniels, a former DB who teamed with the punter in 2012 and 2013. Daniels later returned to the Rams as an assistant special teams coach from 2018-19.

The Hekker signing comes in the wake of former Vikings punter Ryan Wright joining the Saints. Hekker will join 2025 First-Team All-Pro kicker Will Reichard, entering his third season in Purple, and three-time Pro Bowl long snapper Andrew DePaola, who is returning for his seventh campaign with the Vikings and has been named First-Team or Second-Team All-Pro in each of the past four seasons.
