The Jacksonville Jaguars’ lone outside free agent addition up to this point has been the signing of running back Chris Rodriguez. Spotrac now has Rodriguez’s contract details.

This is a two-year deal for Rodriguez worth $10 million. Included is a $4 million signing bonus, and his $1.2 million base salary in 2026 is guaranteed as well.

The cap hit from the $4 million signing bonus will be prorated over the life of the deal, which includes three void years added to the contract.

Void years are not an extension, but rather a bookkeeping measure that puts more years on the contract on paper. Rodriguez is still set to be a free agent in 2029, at which point the cap charges from the void years, which total $2.4 million, will accelerate and come due as dead cap.

In 2027, Rodriguez comes with a base salary of $4.19 million. He can also earn a roster bonus of $255,000 and a workout bonus of $50,000.

With the Jaguars, Rodriguez could help shoulder the workload out of the backfield with Bhayshul Tuten, while LeQuint Allen continues to see the field during more obvious passing situations. He also brings some experience to a relatively young running back room.
